Grass Valley, CA ---- A Joint Nevada County Sheriff's Office / Grass Valley Police Department release dash cam and body cam of Critical Incident that occurred on January 1, 2020 - Officer Involved Shooting - Walker Drive at Oak Street
Shortly before 1 pm on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 the Nevada County Regional Dispatch Center received reports of a male subject walking down Squirrel Creek Rd near Adam Avenue with a shotgun over his shoulder. Several law enforcement officers from the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office and Grass Valley Police Department arrived on scene and began conducting an area check. The male subject was located at the intersection of Oak Drive and Walker Drive armed with a suspected firearm. The suspect was given multiple verbal orders to drop the weapon - a taser was deployed but was ineffective. Officers on scene fired their duty weapons striking the subject later identified as Gabriel Strickland 25-year-old. First aid was immediately rendered; however, the subject was later pronounced deceased at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.
It was determined later that the shotgun was in fact a Airsoft weapon that mimicked the appearance of a shotgun
In previous contacts the suspect had made statements regarding “suicide by cop” and in a previous contact one firearm was taken for safekeeping.
Two days before he was fatally shot when pointed an altered Airsoft gun at law enforcement, On New Year’s Day, Gabriel Strickland was arrested in Grass Valley after fighting with officers and being found with a loaded handgun and ammunition after a “be on the lookout” alert had been issued describing statements he made about shooting people.
Despite an assessment of being high risk, Strickland was allowed a pre-trial release on Dec. 30 on his own recognizance.

Los Angeles Police Department --- Dash Cam and Body Cameras of
On June 5, 2019, around 4:50 p.m., in the area of 150 N. Myers Street, officers assigned to Hollenbeck Area Gang Enforcement Detail conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with tinted windows, a violation of 26708(a) of the Vehicle Code. A male passenger ran from the vehicle and the officers chased him on foot. The male, later identified as 27-year-old Jose Abel Iribe, was armed with a handgun. Iribe did not comply with the officers' commands, resulting in an officer-involved shooting. After being shot, Iribe threw the handgun over a fence, where detectives later recovered it.
While the officers were attempting to take Iribe into custody, he continued to refuse to follow the officers' commands. A TASER was used and Iribe was taken into custody. He was transported to a local hospital where he received medical treatment for a gunshot wound. No officers were injured.

On January 5, 2020, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Officer Nicholas Lawson (“OfficerLawson”) attempted to perform a traffic stop on a stolen car. The car fled at high speeds, hit another car and then ultimately crashed into a concrete pole of a pedestrian overpass.
When Officer Lawson approached the suspect vehicle, the backseat passenger pointed a rifle at him.
In fear for his life, Officer Lawson opened fire, wounding the backseat passenger who pointed the firearm at him and killing the front seat passenger, Kwame Jones.
The details are as follows: On January 5, 2020, at 9:19 p.m., Officer Lawson attempted to perform a traffic stop on a stolen car for careless driving and taillight violations.
Officer Lawson advised over the radio that he was in pursuit of a possibly impaired driver. After Officer Lawson turned on his emergency lights, the driver of the car sped off and turned off the headlights. The driver fled, drove into oncoming traffic at a speed of 70 mph1, ran a red light at
Moncrief and 45th Street, struck another vehicle in the intersection, and crashed into a pedestrian overpass.
When Officer Lawson arrived at the crash, he got out of his vehicle and commanded the occupants to exit the car. Officer Lawson described an “assault rifle-type firearm” pointed directly at him by the backseat passenger on the driver’s side.
This passenger was Joseph Carter (“Carter”). Officer Lawson fired at Carter until the firearm was no longer pointed at him and Carter moved to the passenger side of the car. At the time of the shooting, the driver, Bobby Whitty (“Whitty”), had already fled from the car. Officer Lawson’s bullets struck Carter and the front seat passenger, Kwamae Jones (“Jones”), wounding Carter and killing Jones.

Houston, Texas --- The Harris County Sheriff’s Office released body camera of an officer-involved shooting that occurred on February 3, 2024.
On February 3, 2024, at around 2:10 a.m., Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to an "In Progress" call at 90 Uvalde Road. The caller reported a possible intruder inside her apartment. By 2:14 a.m., the first deputy arrived and conducted a thorough search of the apartment, finding no signs of an intruder. However, before leaving, a resident from a neighboring apartment alerted the deputies to a break-in at another nearby unit.
Responding to the reported break-in, deputies observed damage to a window near the front door, with shattered glass and raised blinds. Upon knocking and announcing their presence at the front door, deputies peered through the broken window and spotted a female approaching, holding a firearm. In response, two deputies discharged their duty weapons, striking the woman. Immediate life-saving measures were initiated, and the wounded female was transported to a local hospital by North Channel Emergency Medical Services.
Following a safety sweep of the apartment, no additional individuals were found inside. However, a handgun was discovered within the premises, believed to be the same firearm observed by deputies prior to the discharge of their weapons.
The injured female is reported to be in stable condition at the hospital, with no other injuries reported. Subsequent investigation revealed that the wounded woman is, in fact, a resident of the apartment, along with another female companion. They had purportedly broken their own window to gain entry due to not having a key.
As per standard HCSO protocols, the two deputies involved in the incident have been placed on administrative leave. The investigation into the matter is ongoing under the purview of the Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit.

The Michigan State Police released 2 dash cam of police chase of an RV on June 12-2021.
The Michigan State Police Lakeview responded around 1:30 p.m. to reports of a tan Winnebago RV driving erratically near M-91 and M-46. Police say they witnessed the RV pass nine vehicles on the right and disregard a red light.
ay they tried to pull the RV over, but the RV would not stop. Troopers passed the RV and made eye contact with the driver, who is described as an older woman, but the driver continued.
Police say they were able to perform a successful pit maneuver and arrested the two female occupants without further incident.
Several large electronics that troopers believed to be stolen from the Mt. Pleasant Walmart were found in the RV.
No civilian injuries were reported. A Kent County Sheriff’s Office deputy attempting to assist Michigan State Police was transported to a hospital with neck and back pain after a civilian driver collided with her vehicle

This is body-worn camera video from Volusia Sheriff's Office Deputy Brady Bergeron, who was involved in yesterday's November 21- 2020 shooting of an armed suspect who shot and wounded a New Smyrna Beach police officer.
The deceased suspect was identified as Matthew Thomas, 25, of Holly Hill.
Deputy Bergeron, 24, was hired by the Sheriff's Office in April 2019 and has prior law enforcement experience at Daytona Beach PD.
The injured officer from New Smyrna Beach Police Department is Ralph Hunnefeld. Hunnefeld and his fellow NSBPD officers David McCallister and Margaret Deal also returned fire at Thomas.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is conducting the investigation into this shooting.
NSB POLICE OFFICER WOUNDED IN SHOOTING; SUSPECT KILLED WHEN POLICE AND DEPUTY RETURN FIRE
An armed suspect who fled from police this afternoon in Port Orange shot and wounded a New Smyrna Beach police officer before police and a Volusia sheriff’s deputy returned fire, killing him. The NSB police officer was taken to a hospital and is recovering from his injury.
The incident started around 4 p.m. at Nova and Spruce Creek roads, where a Port Orange police officer attempted a traffic stop on a driver of a green Lincoln sedan who took off fleeing recklessly at high speed. Officers followed the car at a distance as it headed toward New Smyrna Beach.
When the car reached the area of Turnbull Street and Industrial Park Avenue, a deputy deployed stop sticks and the car crashed outside a storage facility, where the suspect bailed out and ultimately started firing at police. Around 4:17 p.m., the officer was shot. Moments later, the suspect was shot by return fire.

Two Volusia sheriff’s deputies opened their hearts and their wallets early Wednesday to help an Orlando mom who was found at a gas station in New Smyrna Beach with no money for a place to stay, nor a second car seat to travel safely with her two small daughters.
Deputies learned of the family’s plight from an off-duty Seminole sheriff’s deputy who said the woman was observed driving with an infant on her lap and then looking for help at the BP station at State Road 44/County Road 415.
The woman told Volusia deputies she was traveling to the beach for a few days and planned to rent an Airbnb in New Smyrna Beach, using her debit card to pay for it. But she said she had no money because her debit card and ID had been stolen in Orlando. She said she was asking for money to buy gas.

FARGO, Minnesota --- The video shows what occurred after a traffic stop involving local Black Lives Matter activist Faith Dixon. The video that was originally made public on Facebook has since been taken down.
In the video, Dixon says she was upset with the way the stop was conducted in Moorhead on Saturday and has since filed a formal complaint against one officer involved.
Dixon says one of the officers tried to open her door, had his hand on his gun and that she feared for her life. Dixon says she needs justice.
We reached out to Moorhead Police who say shortly after 4:00 on Saturday, they pulled Dixon over on 8th Street for driving 44 in a 30 mile per hour zone. Police say they want to be as transparent as possible with the community and will be releasing more video on the incident sometime today.
Dixon was cited for speeding.

The Indianapolis Metro Police Department released body camera, picture, map and details about an officer involved shooting which 2 officer were stabbed on December 1, 2021, at approximately 1:15 am.
Shortly after 1:00 am, IMPD North District officers responded to a reported disturbance in the 1400 block of Fairfield Avenue.
After arriving, officers came into contact with an adult male who reported another individual was harassing him. Officers told the male they would attempt to locate the person involved. The officers turned, began walking away to continue the investigation, and were stabbed by the male complainant. The male was armed with multiple knives which have been recovered at the scene.
The two officers discharged their service weapons striking the suspect. The officers were transported by other officers to Eskenazi Hospital in stable condition. One officer was stabbed in the neck and the other stabbed in the chest. The officer stabbed in the neck remains under medical care in good condition. The officer stabbed in the chest has been released.
Officers provided the suspect with medical attention. Indianapolis Emergency Medical Service (IEMS) responded to the scene and transported the suspect to Methodist Hospital and was most recently listed in stable condition.
No other officers or other citizens were injured during this incident.

SPRINGFIELD — Illinois State Police have unsealed dash camera video that shows the moment a fleeing suspect leads police on a high speed chase back in February 2018.
The video also shows a U.S. Marshal being physically dragged with the vehicle as it sped away from police.
It all began when Illinois State Police pulled over a black Mazda SUV in Riverton over speeding and suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
After the unidentified state trooper ordered the female driver out of the car, the trooper notices someone hop into the drivers seat and speed off.
While in pursuit, three law enforcement officers tried to intervene and stop the vehicle, but were unsuccessful. As a result, one U.S. Marshal failed to let go of the fleeing vehicle and was dragged about a half-mile down Prairie School Road in Riverton.
"He is dragging a marshal. I'm requesting additional units now," the trooper communicates to dispatchers.
The U.S. Marshal was able to let go of the car and was nearly struck by the cruiser in pursuit.
"The authorities were approaching this defendant because he had a $200,000 warrant out for his arrest for the manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance," said John Milhiser, former Sangamon County State's Attorney.
The suspect was quickly identified as 31-year-old Robert Collins.
Robert Collins is due back in court for a hearing on attempted first-degree murder charges next month. (Sangamon County Sheriff's Office)
In the video, Collins could be seen allegedly weaving through traffic on Sangamon Avenue. At one point, he veers into traffic in the opposite direction, nearly striking a semi-truck and several cars.
Collins allegedly proceeds to the Dirksen Parkway and Clear Lake Avenue where he abandons the vehicle and starts to run. Police were able to arrest him a short time later.
"Thankfully no one was severely injured in this case, but it's just another example of the dangers that law enforcement face each and every day," Milhiser said.
Court documents show the woman in the video faced minor charges related to the case.
Collins is due back in court for a hearing on attempted first degree murder charges next month.
