It's not hard to spend millions of dollars on equipment. In fact, there's a whole convention dedicated to video equipment and its usage. It's called NAB and it happens every spring in Las Vegas. I've never been, but I think it's just a matter of time. I'm afraid that I better only go once I have a permanent studio set up and tons of paying clients. I bet I could spend $100,000 in the first 5 minutes.
What most people don't know is that you don't need millions, hundreds of thousands, or even tens of thousands of dollars to create compelling video. The early videos I made for my church were all created with an iMac and a consumer mini-dv camcorder. It's not even necessary to have both a camera and a computer for all types of video. I'd rather have all the tools necessary for the different video types than hope I had the equipment.

For many churches, the free version of Auphonic (http://auphonic.com) is going to be all you need. By creating an account on auphonic.com, you can process 2 hours of media per month. If your podcast is less than that, you should be fine.

I think everyone has a "to do someday" list in the back of their heads. Someday I'll start to jog, someday I'll write a book, someday I'll make a difference. The question is, "when will you do the things on that list?"
Recognize that you're not going to live forever. Think of all the people you know who thought that they'd live much longer, but they didn't. Consider the people who prove you're not guaranteed tomorrow.
Also consider the hard drive space in your mind. You have things taking up space in your head. Once you start doing things, that you've wanted to do, you'll find some satisfaction in just making progress. This week, let's turn our attention to turning the 3d printed buttons (http://www.trinitydigitalmedia.com/2016/11/interactive-projection-3d-printing-buttons/) we made last time into capacitive buttons to activate the Arduino leonardo (http://www.trinitydigitalmedia.com/2016/10/controlling-interactive-projection-with-arduino-leonardo/) we programmed in the tutorial before that to control the interactive projection system created with ProPresenter 6 (http://www.trinitydigitalmedia.com/2016/10/propresenter-6-tutorial-interactive-projection-churchtechcast-com-screencast-show/) in the one before that.
The first step is to make the buttons conductive and since PLA plastic isn't, I used metal tape to cover the surface (affiliate link: http://amzn.to/2giM7es). I also attached two 100k ohm resistors (affiliate link: http://amzn.to/2gjUTIW) to the buttons and the tape.
These were then connected to pins 2 and 4, 6 and 4, 8 and 4, and 10 and 4 of the Arduino Leonardo (affiliate link again: http://amzn.to/2giIqpe) that I programmed in the second tutorial in this miniseries.

A podcast is simply an RSS 2.0 delivered media file. That's the geeky answer, of course. Imagine that RSS is a shopping list that the podcaster has access to. Your computer, smart phone, etc., checks the list from time to time and when there's something new listed, it gets it. You don't have to check to see if there's new content. You're subscribed to just get it.
Podcasts aren't every media type either. They're typically MP3s, MOVs, or PDFs. The latter is very rare. There's a forth media type, the "enhanced podcast," but those are falling out of vogue since they never caught on for anything other than Apple devices and Apple quit supporting them in the latest version of GarageBand.
But, who should podcast? Churches that want to spread the Gospel in places that a person can't go. Churches that want to have Christ's message of hope and love shared.
