The X-Men: Dark Phoenix trailer shows the X-Men going up against one of their own

The Phoenix is coming.
On Wednesday night, Fox released the first trailer for X-Men: Dark Phoenix, the fourth movie in Fox’s rebooted X-Men franchise. (The film is preceded by 2011’s X-Men: First Class, 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, and 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse.)
In this installment, the X-Men will have to deal with a villain in their own ranks: Jean Grey (played by Sophie Turner in the upcoming film as well as its predecessor, Apocalypse). Directed and written by Simon Kinberg, Dark Phoenix adapts what is arguably the most essential X-Men story ever written: that of Jean and her relationship to the Phoenix, a powerful cosmic entity.

Good intentions may look nice in the short term, but that’s rarely enough to solve serious problems.
You might say that this sentence summarizes the flaw with liberalism. Much of the “progressive” philosophy is based on looking good and appearing compassionate, but without the proper foundations that work in real life, all the “positive thoughts” in the world fall short.
That’s what A-list actor Brad Pitt is finding out in New Orleans. Back in 2006, the left-leaning celebrity used his charitable foundation to help construct oh-so-progressive “eco-friendly” homes for residents displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
Here’s the problem: Those “green” houses were apparently so shoddily built that they’re now literally in shambles.

If you’re a cell phone owner — and I’m assuming that applies to most of you in 2018 — you’ve probably received one of those alerts on your phone about an abducted child or a possible weather emergency, or just the usual test message.
Well, now FEMA is about to conduct a national test of part of their alert system in which the president can notify the American people in the event of an emergency, which is something that has to be pretty uncontroversial, right? I mean, there’s absolutely no way that this could possibly be problematic.
Or, as the editor of the hyper-left website Talking Points Memo put it: “Prepare to die.”
Sounds reasonable enough.
So, here’s the occasion that has liberals all in a tizzy: “The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) on September 20, 2018,” the agency announced via a release.

In light of the sexual assault accusation made against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, the wife of an Emmy-nominated Netflix series director turned up at Monday night’s Emmy Awards in Los Angeles with the message “Stop Kavanaugh” written her arm — a graphic illustration of what really matters to liberals today.
Kavanaugh’s accuser, California professor Christine Blasey Ford, claims the now Supreme Court nominee sexually assaulted her in the early 1980s — when both were in high school — but only recently came forward with her allegation.
Of course, Kavanaugh sharply denied the allegations.
“I have never done anything like what the accuser describes—to her or to anyone,” Kavanaugh said in a statement issued Monday. “Because this never happened, I had no idea who was making this accusation until she identified herself yesterday.”
The allegation is virtually impossible to prove or disprove so long after the alleged event took place, and there are discrepancies between the accuser’s claims and her therapist’s notes on the event, as attorney and conservative commentator David French has pointed out at National Review.

Subscribe to the channel at https://goo.gl/VjHw6T Germany has handed back the human remains of indigenous people killed during a genocide in colonial Namibia more than 100 years ago.
A Namibian government delegation received the skulls at a church service in the capital, Berlin.
The bones had been sent to Germany for now-discredited research to prove the racial superiority of white Europeans.
Tens of thousands of Herero and Nama people were murdered in response to an anti-colonial uprising.
Why was an extermination order issued?

Vettel then fought back through the field from 18th to fourth, ending the day 30 points behind Hamilton and with seven races remaining.
Vettel’s veteran Finnish team mate Kimi Raikkonen finished second, after starting on pole position and racing superbly, with compatriot Valtteri Bottas third for Mercedes.

Sarah Sanders Slaps Back Hard At Former First Lady – ‘Your Husband Signed The Law.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has been having a difficult time with the press recently. Immigration has been a hot-button issue and journalists and reporters alike have been going to the communications department in the White House looking for answers regarding what is happening. Recently, a press briefing devolved into a conversation and questions in reference to former First Lady Laura Bush’s article she wrote for The Washington Post which she wrote on immigration. However, Sanders had a response that some might not like.
Western Journal reported,
“The complicated legal entanglements regarding illegal immigrants who get caught trying to bring their children to the United States have been reduced, more or less, to two separate sets of opinions: either separating children from their mothers while their cases are adjudicated is a human rights violation like never before or we should enforce the law until the problems with it are fixed by Congress. Part of the great irony with the first argument is that many of the luminaries speaking out against enforcing what they see as unjust laws are associated with the individuals who passed the laws in the first place. One of these individuals is Laura Bush, who penned a much-ballyhooed op-ed in The Washington Post in which she decried the Trump administration’s immigration policies.

The Judiciary Committee had asked Ford to respond by 10 pm on Friday.
A lawyer for Christine Blasey Ford — a Palo Alto University professor who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault — says Ford needs more time to determine if she will testify about the allegations in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee next week, according to an email shared by the Washington Post’s Seung Min Kim.

Senator Chuck Grassley ripped apart his colleague Senator Dianne Feinstein, for her “stunt” involving the woman accusing Brett Kavanaugh of attacking and “nearly killing her” almost 40-years ago, back in HIGH SCHOOL.
Grassley claims Feinstein has refused to follow proper Senate procedure by alerting him of these concerns months ago when she was first aware and has also failed to take place in any phone calls or further investigations he’s done with Kavanaugh’s accuser.
Daily Caller
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley blasted ranking member Sen. Dianne Feinstein for her handling of high-school-era sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
The allegations against Kavanaugh surfaced Sunday after his accuser, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, granted an interview to The Washington Post. Ford detailed how she sent an anonymous letter to Feinsten regarding the alleged encounter months earlier. Feinstein said she forwarded Ford’s letter to the FBI for review but never made the allegations public until stories began to surface around the letter itself after Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings ended.
