Time-lapse video showing the process to assemble a paper framed diorama with the theme Mortal Kombat 3. A classic title from retro fighting games, that scene was one of the first screenshots I've seen back in the days, when MK3 was showing preview footage on worldwide video game magazines. This is the first of a collection of five themes I've put into practice this year, as a old project put to wait for far too long. All the creation of the art itself on the computer, the pixelart management, color proof adjustments and project final size definition was not recorded. What you see here is basically the first steps of cutting (Exact Pixel Cut process here, retro game must have its pixel respected no matter what) and assembling of the final piece inside a frame. Glass in front, hardboard in the back. Most of these shadowboxes/paper dioramas are done in small sizes, with no respect to the original aspect ratio seen on old CRT TV from the past. I make sure to keep the original aspect instead of using square framed pictures ones, so I make my own frames for now. Probably will have to get some custom frames from now one, when the next collection show up, maybe. This art piece was designed to fit small gamerooms, retro game shades/caves and serves as retro game decoration to your neat space. While it could be made bigger, most people don't actually have big wide spaces on their room for stuff bigger than this, especially if you intend to decorate your room with more than one of these. The total art size measure is about 8.85" by 11.81". The final piece measures, frame included is about 11" by 14". For international folks, the art itself is a little bigger than a A4 sheet of paper, plus the frame. It may not seem much, but most pieces are smaller than this format and no respect for 4:3 aspect ratio. Just saying. Looking forward to the next pieces and timelapse DIY paper diorama assembly.
