During a long hiatus between rehearsals what with the ongoing panic-demic, Chris (Cav) our lead singer, lost his mom to cancer. The lyric is reflective of the process he went through. Another song, "Jacaranda Bloom," is in loving memory of her as well. The chord changes and the general arrangement were Mike Novitch's creation. We put our heads together to come up with an arrangement and some extra chord changes in some sections. During the breakdown, for example, I found the progression was reminiscent of a song I'd written for a band I was in in the early 90's. I took that little bit and added it in there.

"White Christmas" is an Irving Berlin song reminiscing about an old-fashioned Christmas setting, released in 1942. The version sung by Bing Crosby is the world's best-selling single with estimated sales in excess of 50 million copies worldwide. When the figures for other versions of the song are added to Crosby's, sales of the song exceed 100 million.
Accounts vary as to when and where Berlin wrote the song. One story is that he wrote it in 1940, in warm La Quinta, California, while staying at the La Quinta Hotel, a frequent Hollywood retreat also favored by writer-director-producer Frank Capra, although the Arizona Biltmore also claims the song was written there. He often stayed up all night writing. One day he told his secretary, "I want you to take down a song I wrote over the weekend. Not only is it the best song I ever wrote, it's the best song anybody ever wrote."
"Christmas Time Is Here" is a popular Christmas standard written by Lee Mendelson and Vince Guaraldi for the 1965 television special A Charlie Brown Christmas, one of the first animated Christmas specials produced for network television in the United States.
Two versions were included on the album A Charlie Brown Christmas: an instrumental version by the Vince Guaraldi Trio and a vocal version by choristers from St. Paul's Episcopal Church in San Rafael, California who had previously performed with Guaraldi on At Grace Cathedral (1965).
The beautiful tenor sax playing is provided by good buddy, Matt Demerritt. [http://www.mattdemerritt.com/]
Much to my chagrin, I'm going to have to redo my introductory video and possibly my second video on Key Blending. It's all explained here.
Thanks for your patience!
