Miami Bitcoin Conference 2018 - Blockchain Summit
The Miami Blockchain Summit is organized by bond trader and entrepreneur Chris Cole of Rushcole Capital and includes a wide array of experts in the crypto and blockchain space.
This last conference took pace at the Little Haiti Cultural center at 212-260 NE 59th Terrace Miami, FL 33137 and started with a general discussion of Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency space by Kevork Darmo of Major League Crypto.
CEO of Crypto Playhouse, Dan Alvarez, continued with a discussion on the importance of strategic marketing and partnerships for crypto projects, with an emphasis on Adaptive Marketing Optimization and the importance of organic, influencer marketing in an environment populated by the censorship of content by traditional media giants like Google, Facebook and Twitter.
Austin Doyle, Chief Technical Officer of Crypto Playhouse, then provided a road-map showing how the popular social media brand evolved from an initial mining-based business model into a more diverse trading and marketing-based strategic partnership model. He also discussed the importance of using knowledgeable influencers to promote cryptocurrency projects instead of generic hype.
A talk from RLT Atwood's Denny Darmodihardjo ensued, where he discussed his migration into crypto from Wall Street and their active involvement in turning their initial crypto investment club into an actual listed investment vehicle for investors.

Alright everyone, today we’re checking out another new cryptocurrency hardware wallet, the Temexe! I was rather excited about getting this one in, as it really takes a different approach to the hardware wallet experience. The device allows you to store Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, and Ethereum Based ERC-20 tokens...but with a bit of a twist, it’s a bluetooth connected device! Now the caveat to this is that you have to have a phone to use it via the companion app, but for most crypto users that shouldn’t really be an issue. Although I was extremely excited to start loading up the device and possibly ditch my Hyundai Kasse, some issues crept up that left me wondering about the viability of the device. Is crypto mining still profitable in 2019? Is there really a way to configure GPU and ASIC hardware, cooling equipment, profitability calculators and other magical relics to make mining worth it?
At least in 2017, when we released our first mining video on Youtube, it was actually possible to make some good money with mining. In fact, mining is what led to my foray into the world of cryptocurrency. It's why I started leveraging off my experience building high end computers to build some pretty crazy GPU mining rigs; rigs that were in pretty high demand at the time and quite a few people actually purchased.
During that time, one of my partners also started picking up a number of ASIC miners to add to his collection, including a Bitmain L3+ which will have a bit of a cameo appearance during the beginning of this video. You don't want to miss that!
Over two years later and much wiser in the realm of bitcoin mining, blockchain and all other things crypto, I can honestly say that we don't own any mining rigs anymore. We actually sold off all our GPU miners by the very beginning of 2018. But what bout the ASIC rigs? You'll see shortly, trust me!
The reality is that there has been an extreme shift in the crypto space since we started mining, which has led to an unprecedented influx of institutional money into the industry. This has caused a huge increase in competition for mining revenue, which continually decreases the useful life of existing mining hardware and reduces mining profits at an alarmingly rapid rate.

Ahh Binance! If you're in the crypto space, it's rather likely that you've either heard of or traded on the Binance exchange.
But the team over at Binance didn't just limit themselves to being another everyday crypto exchange. One of their defining features is the significantly lower trading fees compared to other platforms, partly achieved through the utilization of the in house "Binance Token," symbol BNB.
Even though this will be another one quick one for our busy, two-minute folk, we've managed to jam pack the essentials on BNB tokens into it. Today, we'll be touching on the token basics and the advantages they bring to traders as well as investors.
And remember, not only is the Binance token utilized within the platform, but it can also be taken off-site for long term storage thanks to its ERC contract format!

What is the best cryptocurrency to mine? Should you be mining Zcash, Bitcoin Gold, Vercoin? I will use our NVIDIA 1080 Ti GPU crypto miner on this video to show you how we do it!
Our mining hardware actually includes three of the EVGA GTX 1080 Ti video cards, which gives us a good hashrate and low temperatures when overclocked. Even though it cannot be used to mine Bitcoin, it is perfect for alcoin mining [and might be appropriate to mine Bitcoin Gold (BTG) soon].
We start off by going to the What to Mine website and specifying our hardware (three 1080 Ti's) and power consumption (in kWh) to determine our hashrates based on different mining algorithms and coins.
For a while, we were mining Zcash (ZEC) because it was the most profitable crypto to mine for the Nvidia cards. But on the day of this example, we used the Lyra 2 Revision 2 algorithm (Lyra2REv2) to mine Monacoin (MONA).
On the What to Mine tab mining profitability table, we see Monacoin as the top earner ($7.40 assuming a Kilowatt-Hour figure of $0.10, as of October 25th, the day this video was recorded), then Vertcoin (VTC), both coins being on the Lyra2 Revision 2 algorithm. After that, there's Zencash (ZEN) and Zcash, which are both on the Equihash algorithm. The Equihash algorithm also includes Zclassic (ZCL), Hush (HUSH), and Komodo (KMD). Monacoin is a big player in Japan, which legalized cyptocurrencies in brick-and-mortar stores, and provided access to Bitcoin ATMs, where you can withdraw fiat (paper currency) for your cryptos.

Another coin from the pre-ico era (can you tell we’re a fan of established projects yet?) CloakCoin encrypted its first block back in June of 2014 with an opening price of around eighteen cents a share. With a Market cap of around twenty million USD and a global ranking of 302, CloakCoin is currently trading between $3.50 and $4.00 a share. Of course the two major draws to Cloakcoin are their grade A privacy and their extremely early entrance into the proof of stake environment.

With 2018 in full swing, and the SEC is sending out subpoenas left and right in an ICO, crypto fund, and anything cryptocurrency related crackdown.
This will obviously make security tokens a lot more popular. This is an important fact for existing ICO investors. If the SEC determines that an ICO you invested in is a security token (and not a utility token) because the associated tokens don't have any utility, you can be held legally responsible!
One of the important keys to security tokens will be the platforms where they can trade. Right now, you can't really trade them anywhere. Sorry Binance users!

Installation of Chrome Extension for Enhanced Charts
Before diving into some of basic information that's essential to trade on cryptocurrency exchanges (specifically Bittrex for this video) and looking at examples with Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin, you should download the Bittrex Enhanced Chrome extension (URL at bottom of description). The enhanced Tradingview charting tools that the extension provides are far more useful than the overly simplistic set provided by Bittrex. The resulting color coded bars and candles make the charts much easier for beginners to interpret and understand.
Common Mistake Beginners Make When Trading Cryptos
One of the biggest and most common mistakes made made by new crypto traders is taking the prices on charts literally. If you learn something from this tutorial, learn this: DO NOT TRADE PURELY OFF THE CHARTS!
