This requires a Mystic Ticket that can be obtained via Nintendo Event. With the Mystic Ticket, go to the boatyard at Lilycove City and you’ll ride to Navel Rock. At Navel Rock, go to the fork room and turn left at the top of the room. Go up some floors and make your way to the mountaintop. Save your game before you approach. Ho-Oh is on Level 70. It has a combo of Sunny Day and Fire Blast. It will use Recover when running low on HP. Paralyze Ho-Oh and keep throwing Ultra Balls. Elesa is one of the Unova Leaders in the Pokémon World Tournament that can be battled in either the Unova Leaders or World Leaders Tournaments. Elesa is skilled in using Electric type Pokémon. Zebstrika will use Quick Attack to strike first and Overheat to do big damage at the expense of its own Special Attack stat. Ampharos will use Discharge to paralyze opponents and Signal Beam to cause confusion. Luxray knows 2 fang attacks and Quick Attack as well. When Emolga uses Acrobatics, the move will power up even more for once after a Flying Gem takes effect. Eelektross holds a Choice Band that raises power of physical attacks but can only use one move. Stunfisk will use Scald to burn opponents and Astonish to make them flinch. A move like Earthquake would be the best use for this round.

There are boxing ghosts all over the place. Lure one to some hard blocks for it to break so you can do wall kicks to find the first Star Coin. Bounce off one boxing ghost to reach a door by the left wall. The room has 6 boxing ghosts with the 2nd Star Coin above. Make your way to the top and ride an elevator. At the very top, the door will guide you out of the mansion so you can go to the goal.

Cerulean City’s gym leader, Misty uses Water type Pokémon. Don’t let any of your Pokémon raise their stats because Golduck can use Psych Up to copy off them. Quagsire will use Amnesia to raise its Special Defense stat then Rain Dance to make it rain for 5 turns. When Lapras uses Perish Song, all Pokémon on the field hearing it will faint in 3 turns. Starmie will use Confuse Ray to confuse opponents then Recover to restore HP when in danger. After winning, you’ll receive the Cascade Badge.

On Cinnabar Island, get the Secret Key from the Pokémon Mansion then use it to access the gym. This gym has a puzzle with computers giving you a quiz to answer questions. If you guess a question correct, you’ll open the door to the next spot with the next computer quiz. If you guess a question wrong, you’ll be forced to battle a trainer. Beat the trainer for the door to open. After all shutters open, you’ll take on the gym leader. Blaine uses Fire type Pokémon. When Ponyta and Rapidash use Fire Spin, you can’t move as the move repeats itself for 2-5 turns. Their Stomp attack has a 30% chance of making targets flinch. Fire type moves like Ember can burn targets, reducing physical attack power and at the expense of HP every turn, so you had better have a Burn Heal. After winning, you’ll receive the Volcano Badge and a TM38 (Fire Blast). Fire Blast is a powerful Fire type move that has a 10% chance of burning the target.

Collect 5 Red Coins as you cross the platforms over lava. Ride a platform and you’ll find the first flower. Get one Red Coin over more platforms then you’ll find the checkpoint. Go up the pipe and ride an arrow platform to collect 3 Red Coins and use the pipe far up left to enter a secret room. Merge into the train and collect the 2nd flower. Now enter the pipe to a sewer and turn left. This room has Ghostly Guys throwing bombs and fake flowers. The real flower is under some concrete so throw an egg to retrieve it. After you pick up a Red Coin, push the vase for the key. Go back to the sewer for another Red Coin and you’ll next see a spiked log chain blocking the way. Throw eggs at the leverage to lift the spiked log and open the locked door. Touch another checkpoint and enter a secret room with Burts. Defeat both Burts for the 4th flower and go back out to collect 2 Red Coins. Lift 2 spiked logs for the last flower and ride an arrow platform around thorns for 3 Red Coins. Go through the next door and you’ll enter a zone of Bandits. Collect 4 Red Coins, touch a checkpoint, and push a vase for a key. Open the locked door and touch another checkpoint before going through the next door. The next boss is the Potted Ghost. This boss will spit out moving flames. Push the vase but the Shy Guys right behind it will push back. Keep pushing until the vase with the ghost is completely off the edge. Doing this, you’ll receive a key to go to the next world.

As you explore Route 120, go to the bridge over the water and Steven will give you the Devon Scope. Using the Devon Scope can unveil invisible things blocking the way. What’s invisible and blocking the way is none other than a Kecleon. Kecleon is on Level 30. Its ability, Color Change will change into the type of move it was damaged by. Capturing one of these will certainly add to your collection.

After saving Silph Co. from Team Rocket, you can enter the gym of Saffron City. This gym has warp panels and trainers in some rooms. Keep using the warp panels until you reach the gym leader. Sabrina uses Psychic type Pokémon. Mr. Mime will combo with Barrier and Light Screen to make your moves less effective against it. Venomoth will combo with Stun Spore to paralyze then Psybeam to confuse. Alakazam will use Reflect to power down physical attacks then use Recover when running out of HP. After winning, you’ll receive the Marsh Badge and a TM46 (Psywave). Psywave will inflict a random amount of damage on the opponent.

Once you reach Virbank City, enter the gym and you’ll hear a band playing. The band is so loud that Roxie won’t even notice you unless you defeat both her drummer and guitarist. Once both band members are quieted down, you’ll be able to battle Roxie. Roxie uses Poison type Pokémon. In Challenge Mode, Grimer is extra to her team while Whilipede holds a Sitrus Berry. Koffing will use Smog to poison targets and Assurance if the target has already received damage that turn. Grimer will use Mud-Slap to make opponents less accurate and use Disable on the move they recently used. Whirlipede will use Protect to avoid attacks and Rollout to hit consecutively for 5 turns as every successive hit gets stronger. After the battle, you’ll receive the Toxic Badge and a TM09 (Venoshock). If the target is poisoned, Venoshock will do double the damage.

Byron has an improved team of Steel type Pokémon. Skarmory will use Stealth Rock to hurt those who switch out and Night Slash for critical hits. Magnezone will use Thunder Wave to paralyze targets and Supersonic to confuse them. Steelix will use Gyro Ball to hit hard against faster foes and Dragonbreath to paralyze targets. Bastiodon will use Metal Burst to counter any attack for double the damage and Rest when running out of HP. Aggron will use Stone Edge for critical hits and Avalanche for double the damage when damaged the same turn. Moves like Earth Power and Flamethrower are good moves for this battle.
