Good Morning, I’m still reporting from Washington.
While the major media focuses on wall-to-wall coverage of the Pope’s visit to Washington, the Obama administration quietly released Abdul Shalabi from Guantanamo.
Who is he? He was Osama bin Laden’s bodyguard and one of the bodyguards of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who was identified as "the principal architect of the 9/11 attacks" by the 9/11 Commission Report.
Shalabi was considered by the Bush administration as one of the most dangerous of those detained at Guantanamo. He was captured in Pakistan in 2001 and arrived in Guantanamo the first day it opened on Jan. 11, 2002.
Shalabi is among THE most determined of the Guantanamo detainees. He has been on a hunger strike since 2005. He lost 26 pounds and was within a few pounds of death when the military started force feeding him through a nasogastric tube, thereby saving his life.
He will be sent to Saudi Arabia where he will be placed into a rehabilitation program to re-integrate into society, despite an Obama military review board acknowledging that he was still likely to have sympathies to extremists.

As upsetting as this news is, there are reports of voter fraud in Austin, Texas – the left-wing stronghold in Texas.
KLBJ radio in Austin is being flooded with calls that their Trump vote is being changed to Rubio. One individual stated that FOUR attempts to vote Trump were changed to Rubio.

You’ve heard Donald Trump say that America never wins any more. Well, that has been true generally, over the past 7 years. But yesterday was an exception.
Elon Musk, the co-founder of Paypal and CEO of both SpaceX and electric car maker, Tesla Motors, is only 44 years old, but with a net worth of over 13 billion dollars, he is already the 75th wealthiest American.
Incidentally, Elon Musk is also the force behind the Hyperloop train-in-a-tube concept. This first transonic train will run between run from Vienna, Austria, to Budapest, Hungary at speeds of 758 miles per hour. For more info, see Still Report #696.
Elon Musk’s vision for SpaceX has always been to build reusable launch vehicles to fill the gap created when President Obama shut down NASA’s manned spaceflight program 6 years ago. Since then, the United States has had be mostly depend on Russian-made launch vehicles for its heavy-lift space needs.
In order to make the SpaceX business model commercially viable, Musk needed to be able to launch from the existing Florida launch facilities at Cape Canaveral. Why, because you can’t launch heavy-lift vehicles over populated areas, and so launches must be from a coastline, out over the ocean.
The advantage Cape Canaveral has over the California launch facility at Vandenberg Air Force Base is that at the Cape you can launch to the East and since the Earth rotates towards the east, launches get about a 1,000 mile-per-hour speed boost into orbit.
But in order to reuse the largest and most expensive part of the launch vehicle, the 9-engined first stage must be able to land on the pitching deck of an autonomous ocean-going barge ship, oddly named, “Of Course I Still Love You”.
This robo-barge has a landing deck that is only 170 wide by 300 feet long. However, SpaceX’s Falcon-9 launch vehicle lands on legs that stand 60 feet apart, so there is not much room for error.
Before launch, the robo-barge is stationed 150 miles downrange. It is said to be capable of precision positioning within 3 meters, even under storm conditions.
Yesterday afternoon the sea was very rough with high altitude crosswinds of 50 mph and low altitude winds of 25 mph.
SpaceX has tried this landing 4 times in the past; all have ended in failure.
Yesterday afternoon, the Falcon 9 lifted off at 4:43 pm Eastern time.

Seven minutes later, after sending its Dragon-capsule payload successfully towards the International Space Station (the ISS), the first stage fired its retro-rockets to return to earth.
Now we’ll pick up with the live video coverage provided by the SpaceX team. The video window on the right is the second stage engine accelerating the Dragon capsule towards the ISS.

Eventually, the robo-barge will automatically refuel the first stage, and then serve as a launch platform as the first stage takes off and automatically returns itself to the Florida launch facility.

After the violent riot at the University of California/Berkeley a few days ago, a group called – get this – “Refuse Fascism” claimed responsibility for the violent protest. This is the same group that organized the violent protest outside the National Press Club to disrupt the pro-Trump DeploraBall event on Jan. 20th – Inauguration Day.
You think I’m exaggerating? Check this Twitter post from the group:
“Last night, thousands of students, professors and others protested the appearance and organizing rally of Milo Yiannopoulos, a major fascist operative, shutting it down. This was righteous and much more like this is needed.”
Hmmm, as far as I know, Milo Yiannopoulos has never advocated, nor practiced any form of violence, however the communist left has been well-known for these tactics since I was in college.
So, no matter how dumb it sounds, in the future, I’ll have to label this group like this: “the fascist “Refuse Fascism” group….

Dec. 7 in the United States is Pearl Harbor Day – the day that commemorates the Japanese sneak attack on the U.S. Naval Base at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii on Dec. 7, 1941 where 2403 Americans lost their lives.
But in Canada this coming Dec. 7th – six days from today, the next phase in the fight to re-constitute the Bank of Canada will be heard at the Federal Court of Appeal, 180 Queen Street West in Toronto.
What’s at issue here? In 1935, during the depths of the Great Depression, the Bank of Canada was set up to lend money to the government for infrastructure projects, such as the Saint Lawrence Seaway and the Trans-Canada highway – AT NO INTEREST.
This is THE most important function of a national central bank. Why? Because then the government avoids paying interest on money they would otherwise have to borrow on the commercial market – known as the National Debt – but in addition, they take back control over the quantity of money in the system.

According to this afternoon’s edition of The Weekly Standard, shots were fired into Nevada campaign office of Bernie Sanders in the run-up to the Nevada primary on Feb. 23. In addition, an apartment in which some of his campaign staff lived was broken into. According to The Weekly Standard :
“The Democratic presidential candidate did not explicitly blame his rival, Hillary Clinton, for the actions.”
The revelation was made today when Sanders responded to a number of criticisms by the Clinton campaign that Sanders’ people had a:
“… penchant for violence.”
According to a Sanders’ release:
"Within the last few days there have been a number of criticisms made against my campaign organization. Party leaders in Nevada, for example, claim that the Sanders campaign has a 'penchant for violence.' “
“That is nonsense. Our campaign has held giant rallies all across this country, including in high-crime areas, and there have been zero reports of violence. Our campaign of course believes in non-violent change and it goes without saying that I condemn any and all forms of violence, including the personal harassment of individuals.”
“But, when we speak of violence, I should add here that months ago, during the Nevada campaign, shots were fired into my campaign office in Nevada and apartment housing complex my campaign staff lived in was broken into and ransacked.”
I support Sanders’ contention that his real supporters have been non-violent types.
This reporter’s observations have been that although the violence-prone demonstrators at many of the Donald Trump rallies – especially the cancelled rally in Chicago on March 11, 2016 - have sometimes held Bernie Sanders signs, all evidence points to the fact that they were not real Sanders supporters, but most likely those funded by George Soros monies and hired through advertisements on Craig’s List.
These folks were then instructed to appear to be Sanders supporters in an effort to discredit two birds with one stone – both Sanders and Trump.

The French election results are in and none of the reports on this election agree. It looks like French banker Emmanuel Macron won by about a 2.2% over nationalist and populist, Marine Le Pen.
Polls claim that Macron will beat Le Pen in the final round in 13 days by a 62 to 38% margin, because both the socialist and the Republican candidates have already jumped on the side of the young banker and former Socialist economics minister of France, who dropped out of the socialist party to create his own party without the socialist baggage.
But leftists across Europe warn that Le Pen’s popularity is still on the rise and a low voter turnout could bring an upset at the hands of a patriotic French youth.
Voters aged 18-24 came out in large numbers to support far-left candidate Jean-Luc Mélenchon who won 30% of the youth vote. However, their second-fav candidate was Le Pen winning a surprising 21% of their vote.
These young voters are going against the trends in the UK and the US by being the leading edge of populism in a nation where youth unemployment is the second highest in Europe.
Centrist politicians have failed to bring that number down, so young voters are flocking to anti-globalization candidates – and now with Mélenchon out of the race, they have no alternative but Le Pen. But it’s not a random choice. Le Pen has courted the youth by emphasizing common-sense issues like women’s rights and French national sovereignty. After the results came in, Le Pen said:
"Either we continue to disintegrate without any borders, without any controls, unfair international competition, mass immigration and the free circulation of terrorists, or you choose France with borders.”

Why hasn’t something been done about the person who is the most-easily-identifiable conduit for much of the importation of this invasion of Europe – and probably into the U.S. as well?
This is a war. This is no longer strictly in the realm of politics and polite debating societies. In fact, if we lose this war, civilization – that is, civilized society – will be gone.
We will be ruled by a culture-of-death disguised as a theocracy. If they win, there will be no democracy. There will be no populist political revolts in the future.
