Real What is real? Reality is subjective This much has been said Over and Over Driven into our heads But what is subjective is not always real Thus reality must be something we can all feel Through touch, taste, scent, and sound Reality comes into focus, through organs that are round Seeing is believing some will shout But perspectives differ inside and out Its not always the same from where we all stand Billions of perspectives like grains of sand Is reality subjective? Or is it just our perspectives You see, Hot is hot to you and to I our hands will be burnt if we touch that red eye When it is cold it is cold And to death we can all freeze Just the same and as easy as enjoying a breeze These are all real this much is true And it can all be experienced by me and by you But is it subjective when we look into the sky And see clouds drifting softly, carelessly by Then notice a plane trailing what looks like clouds That doesn’t disappear but instead billows out Spreading so wide that they blanket the sky Covering us from horizon to horizon in what looks like lye Or Is it subjective when we go to the beach And everything is covered in oil and stinks? Is it subjective when you hope for a change? And the only thing you get is more of the same? Is reality subjective? Or is it just our perspective? Because the more I look, the more I see The more it begins to appear to me That reality is not subject The subject is WE Subjects to a reality in which we are trapped By players and handlers who see us and laugh Telling us what’s real and telling us what’s not Demanding we pay for things we’ve not bought Complaining and crying that we are to many Even though well all know that we have all got plenty Expecting us to lower standards even lower than mean So that managing us is a lot less demanding Modifying our food, poisoning our water, polluting our air All the while telling us that we must play fair Cutting down forests for toothpicks and profit While thousands of species go extinct in the process And they say its our fault for the life styles we live As if middle class life could not exist without this Creating strife and funding wars Spreading freedom and democracy at the end of a sword What’s real is subjective This much has been said Over and Over driven into our heads But what’s not subjective is that which is real And we have the tools with which we can feel To distinguish between what’s hot from what’s cold To see with our eyes what’s new and what’s old To smell with our nose the rank and the clean To taste with our tongues the tart and the sweet Reality is subjective This much has been said Over and over driven into our heads ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNX91_7NEuE
