I received an mBot V1.1 in the mail and decided to build it on camera. Very similar to the first version but the improvements are pretty good. There are studs for lego, a new centre wheel and there is a case for the rechargeable battery that clips onto the new case of the controller card(arduino based).
This world is a mess but there are a lot of really interesting builds that have been either built or coded. There is an amazing bridge built out of beacons and coloured glass that is pretty cool.

My students (2009) took a number of weeks to fabricate toothpick bridges. Limitations: only 1 box of toothpicks per group. White glue was used. They did an excellent job. Some of the bridges were able to withstand 30 times its own weight. A lot of math was used.
