18 January 2017: Philip Davies MP grills the chairman and CEO, Equality & Human Rights Commission
Philip Davies was a member of the Women & Equalities Committee before the 2019 general election, along with Jess Phillips MP (The Yardley Gob). The two people he grills in this clip, in relation to the gender pay gap at the Commission and cases brought against them for breaches of the Equalities Act, are David Isaac (chairman) and Rebecca Hilsenrath (chief executive).
This video is the result of a collaboration by a number of men who are members of XY Crew http://regardingmen.com, an initiative headed by Paul Elam http://paulelam.com, membership is open to men only.
The script was written and narrated by Gerry Alexander, who provided highly-regarded videos for the last two International Conferences on Men's Issues, held online because of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the 2020 conference http://icmi2020.icmi.info his video was titled, "The Maturity Gender Gap" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBTYtFC_ni8. At the 2021 conference http://icmi2021.icmi.info his talk was titled, "The Garden of Eve" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seb-2kpLyjw.

There was a media frenzy following a case in which Mrs Justice Robers ruled that two young boys could not be circumcised as their Muslim father wished, when their non-Muslim mother wouldn't give consent. Details here:

Mike Buchanan was the founder and leader (2013-20) of this political party. He's a men's rights advocate, author, publisher and occasional fantasist. This video was recorded last summer in the main library of his principal summer residence, Buchanan Castle, near Loch Lomond in Scotland. It was originally posted some months ago but edited to sort out a technical issue.

Rebecca ("Becci") is a lecturer in Psychology at the University of Sunderland, a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a Chartered member of the BPS. She has worked at Sunderland for over ten years, during her PhD as an academic tutor, and gaining a permanent contract on completion of her PhD in 2016.
Her PhD examined competitiveness in men, taking an evolutionary perspective on sex differences in physiology, endocrinology, and how these impact on male psychology. This led to an interest in sex differences generally, with a focus on male psychology specifically.
Becci is interested in distortions in the perceptions of men and women, such as the Gamma bias; the impact of gender roles on mental health and wellbeing, and sex differences in the response to trauma and psychological distress. Other research areas Becci is interested in, separately and in conjunction with male psychology, are body modifications, and mating strategies, sex and relationships.
This video is one of 120 videos published for the sixth International Conference on Men's Issues (2020) http://icmi2020.icmi.info, a conference originally planned for Sydney, Australia, but later turned into a virtual conference due to Covid-19.
From #metoo to the American Psychological Association’s guidelines pathologizing “masculinity” as harmful, to Gillette’s razor adverts blaming all men for the actions of a damaged few, ideologically motivated groups have used unchallenged narratives of female victimhood to promote damaging stereotypes about men and boys, masculinity and men’s relationships to each other.
More than ever before, recognition of men’s issues is needed. Men and boys deserve compassion, they deserve consideration for their unique needs, and they deserve our support.
Men and boys also deserve respect for their unique contributions to society and an end to the promotion of unkind stereotyping of being harmful, abusive, toxic, selfish and hateful. We would not tolerate this stereotyping directed towards any other group.
We are in an era of unprecedented ideological conflict. By reducing men’s ability to take a positive identity from their masculinity we are encouraging young men to pursue ever more radical ideologies to find a place to belong. In turn we are also encouraging young women to embrace an identity as society’s victims rather than its equal co-creators.
The inaugural conference was held in 2014, and since 2016 the conference has been held annually:
- Detroit (2014)
- London (2016)
- Gold Coast, Australia (2017)
- London (2018)
- Chicago (2019)
