It is quite common to find demos of surface plots over rectangular domains. However, it is not so common to find such demos over non-rectangular domains. In this video, I demonstrate in a very simple way how to create a surface plot for a function defined over a circular annular domain. I use Matplotlib, NumPy, and SymPy. The key idea involved is masking available within NumPy. In this video I share what is possibly the best advice I ever received from a senior during my undergraduate days.
