EXORDIUM Collective's special project, YOUNG COMPOSERS PORTRAIT CONCERT, is one of my most exciting project in 2019.
Made possible by the support of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and the Calvin Chan Foundation, this concert was presented as part of the PRISM Chamber Music Festival, a NOVA Ensemble initiative. We were able to host three of the five international composers during their stay in Hong Kong, work intensively with them and premiere the works under their supervision.

A quirky excerpt from a wonderful piece by French composer, Bruno Mantovani (1974 - ).
The excerpt heavily utilises microtones, which my Kingma-system flute can handle very well. I try to show here, from two angles, how some of those 'extra keys' help tackle this piece that may present a number of unsavoury challenges to flautist who play on a Boehm-system flute.

VIDEO IN ENGLISH. TURN ON SUBTITLE FOR ENGLISH!
Welcome back! A record breaking video... took me over 1.5 hours to film, 4 full days to edit, 2.5 hours to render and 3 hours to upload!! Are you not gonna give this a LIKE? :P
Today, we remember a true living legend, a great master and a musical giant, Krzysztof Penderecki. The Polish composer left us exactly 7 weeks ago, on 29th March 202 at his home in Kraków. I'll be talking about his life, the characteristics of his music, as well as a walk-through [some technical analysis involved] of his (in)famous Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima for 52 strings.
SHOUTOUT TO ALICJA for supplying the CORRECT pronunciation of the great master's name!
