4. I agree with something you've said regarding "participation awards", that the very term is an oxymoron. However, as one who tends to gravitate towards the tiniest competitors, I am always torn about this. The very act of participating in competition is something that, for many, is monumentally challenging. And therefore I love to see their bravery in 'participating' honored. Giving it a different name seems a lame suggestion, but the thought occurred to me that we could call them 'competition awards', and make them smaller than place awards, yet a significant mark that their courage did not go unnoticed. What are your thoughts?
