Jose “Jochy” Blanco is offering a Cameroon-wrapped cigar called Imperial Jade that will make its debut at the 2021 PCA Convention & Trade Show.
It will be the first Cameroon-wrapped cigar for the La Galera brand, which will grow to six offerings when Imperial Jade joins the La Galera Connecticut, Habano, Maduro, 1936 Box Pressed and Anemoi lines. Working with such a varietal comes with its challenges, as the company cited the challenges of both growing and handling the tobacco in a press release. “The lack of tobacco know-how in Cameroon means extra work for us at the factory. When the tobacco is received it must go through additional processes, making sure the tobacco is up to the standard that we require it to be before we even think of putting it in one of our cigars.”
However, the company believes it has come up with a winning blend, as underneath that wrapper is a Dominican-grown criollo binder from Tabacalera Palma’s Jacagua farm, along with piloto cubano filler from that same farm and Dominican criollo 98 from the company’s La Canela farm.
The La Galera Imperial Jade is being released in five sizes:

My Father Cigars will soon be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial line with a limited edition that is slated to arrive in stores in early November.
The company has not yet formally announced the details, but a report by Cigar Aficionado indicates that like many of the company’s limited editions, it is a 6 1/2 x 52 toro. The blend is said to be similar to that of the core line, meaning a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and filler, though the limited edition adds some pelo de oro tobacco grown on the Garcia’s family farms.
The cigar is reported to be priced at $20, before taxes, and offered in 16-count boxes, with 2,500 boxes produced at the My Father Cigars S.A. factory in Estelí.

he Garcia family is celebrating a 10-year milestone with the release of a limited-edition smoke. Called Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial 10th Anniversary Limited Edition 2019, the 6 1/2 inch by 52 ring gauge Toro commemorates the initial release of the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial, a brand that debuted in 2009. Rolled with a tobacco not found in the regular-production version of the brand, the new cigar should be shipping to retailers November 1.

Blind Faith, the first project from Alec Bradley owner Alan Rubin’s sons Alec and Bradley Rubin, is set to hit the shelves. It’s the first release under a brand called “Alec & Bradley” that will give the second generation cigar makers the opportunity to release additional projects.
“As a father and brand owner I couldn’t be more proud of my two sons,” said Alan Rubin in a press release. “Their mother is very excited that both of the boys are joining the family business and sharing experiences with me, my father- at age 91- who still opens the office doors every morning and the rest of the Alec Bradley family!”
Alec, the older of the two brothers commented, “my father and mother never pushed Brad or me into the business. From a young age, we watched our father’s passion and respect for the process, the tradition and heritage of Premium Cigars. I’ve been working in the offices for over 4 years, as well as traveling down to Central America with my father and brother – we decided that we wanted to create a brand.”
It was Alec who joined the company before his younger brother Bradley. While Bradley is now officially on-board in an official capacity, Blind Faith is a project that Bradley started working on with Alec prior to joining the company.
