http://CollisionBlast.com - - Weldless car repairs in another thing heading our way. With the heat welding produces, welding structural parts is not recommended on vehicles with certain steels and aluminum.
At SEMA 2011, I also heard that less repairs to structural parts are recommended. Some car makers are recommending to follow the damage back to a place where there is no evident damage, cut the part off and section with a new one. Therefore, eliminating the straightening stage. I believe this was focused on aluminum, but many of the steels used today are very heat sensitive, which is an issue with welding.
Things are changing fast in the automotive industry, so pay attention and look for new repair methods for these changes.

http://CollisionBlast.com - - Learn why some dents are harder to repair than other dents.
Dents in areas, such as body lines are work hardened and are going to be more difficult to repair. Therefore, more time should be allowed to repair a dent when damaged on a body line.
Metal that becomes work hardened also becomes brittle and care should be taken not to crack or tear the metal.
