So many of you have asked us for an update on Rosie. Thanks so much for caring. This week, Dr. Joe came out again to see where we were with her foot infection. She was sedated and examined thoroughly and the good news is that she is recovering and healing wonderfully! She will definitely be ok. The bad news is that the wound still needs a little more time to heal so she still has to stay inside, and still can’t be in the outside play yards where she could reopen the wound. A bummer for sure, but hopefully it won’t be long before she can be out playing in the pond!

Last week Susan noticed Squeaky was not using her arm and she had bright red spots on her stomach. Susan and Jim captured her and rushed her to the vet where she was diagnosed with a severe case of mastitis. She is not inside, with medication and antibiotics and on the road to recovery. But she had some young ones out in her nest. Never fear, Susan is caring for them and making sure they have enough food and warmth to get through winter.
And what do you do when your mother is in the hospital and you’re home alone? You climb a tree during an ice storm. Squeaky’s children are doing well. Susan is caring for them while Squeaky is laid up!

A lot of you have been asking about Jimbo....he is doing fine, but he is much less active in the winter and often doesn’t come outside, preferring to sleep inside for most of the winter. He goes from eating about 30 lbs of food a day to about 5 lbs a day, but he does still eat, drink, get up and walk about....but he doesn’t go into a full hibernation. He does slow down a lot though, so you will see less of him from now until spring! But he is doing great, and still loves to play with Jim!
