FUDGING THE DICE, Adding HP, nudging damage up and down a point, changing the DC after the fact, dictating saving throw results by fiat...At the end of the day, one of the main reasons many folks are fond of telling 'little white lies' from behind the screen when playing Dungeons and Dragons or any other Role-Playing game
YES, there are RPGs where all the dice are 'rolled in the open,' and in Cypher system and Dungeon World the GM/MC doesn't even roll dice at all. And yet? Fudging takes on a different form, even there.
2d20 is one of the few systems that has a precise procedure leading up the die roll that leaves little room for these typical GM 'band aid' moments, instead offering the 'success at cost' to the GM interested in arresting a plunge into 'sad RPG time.'
Anyway, Irrespective of what people DO after they have this feeling about a die roll, what if we took that moment where the impulse hangs in the air and used it as valuable data about where we have room to improve? To more precisely narrate, to pay closer observance to the procedures around rolling, and build our system mastery.

Our first Subscriber Milestone Video.
Because I plan to feature a fair amount of content on The Modiphius Trek RPG, I decided to split off Trek warp into its own feature video based on Razorboy251's request for an exploration of FTL in RPGs.
I've yet to find the exact places where My Trek content would be shared to grow the channel. This one is up to you guys~

I've known about Pendragon since 2006 or so when I first started poking at Hârn, but didn't quite grasp what it was after and how it plays. This overview is specifically about the 5th edition of the game, which re-centers the game around English Knights and makes magic and 'the enchantment of Britain' as Avalon slips into a dreamtime something for the characters to witness as their game unfolds. It is much, much, much more focused than 4th edition and the game seems to know why you've chosen to play it over something else.

The road to self-improvement as a GM is a long one... and each of us has a different destination and different tastes that inform where we want to go.
These are the 6 habits I've worked on cultivating to ask myself,
"Am I getting better"
"What's holding this campaign back?"
"Why did that session become unfun for so many of us?"
"was there something I changed that made everyone become more/less engaged?"
