Cape Caliacra is located in the northeast of Bulgaria, 60 km northeast of Varna and 80 km south of Constanta, in Dobrogea. It is composed of horizontal limestone layers from the Sarmatian Miocene, forming a rocky headland that narrows to the south, above the waters of the Black Sea.
